Logline: A mentally unstable garbage man, Roberto Bizarro, battles his double personality in San Francisco as he struggles with the realization that the American Dream is not something he will be fortunate enough to achieve.
Context of the story:
Roberto Bizarro enrolls in English-learner courses to advance at the waste management company where he’s worked for 19 years. What complicates this plan for Roberto is his decision to stop taking mental health medication, which causes his double personality, Mr. President, to reappear.
The Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde dynamic between Roberto and Mr. President escalates when Far Side Industries, an international insurance provider, suddenly cancels the health policy for Roberto’s sick mother, Magdalena. To make ends meet and cover the costs of the medication Magdalena needs to stay in good health, Roberto and Mr. President make a series of bad decisions that land them in trouble with the law.
In all, Mr. President influences Roberto to become a lone wolf who targets the Vice President of Far Side Industries in retaliation for the termination of thousands of health policies in San Francisco.
I wrote Be Gone Bizarro specifically with Javier Bardem in mind to play the protagonist and his double personality. Whether someone like him would ever be involved is another matter, but his screen presence helped shape the characters in my mind.
I envision this screenplay being translated into a cinematic experience through Virtual Reality (VR) headsets and Shared Reality at venues like Cosm in Los Angeles.
My aim is to secure representation as a screenwriter and, if possible, to direct my own work.
